Slime Games

In English, slime is two different things: the stuff you stretch and the monster you kill. This page is the stuff.

Português ›Español ›

Slime is the strangest genre we host: you cannot win, cannot lose and it never ends. You mix colour, add glitter, stir, stretch, cut and listen.

How this list is put together

Before 2018 it did not exist as a category. There are thirty-two here: twenty-two that are slime proper and ten from next door, which is ASMR.

English is the odd one out

In Spanish and Portuguese, slime means one thing: the stuff. In English it means two, and the second one is bigger.

what English searches per month
slime rancher series 5,000
slime videos 2,400
slime games 2,300
slime challenges 2,200
slime makeovers 1,600
slime asmr videos 1,500
3d slime 1,200
slime laboratory games 706
legendary slime rpg 646
slime soccer games 637
slime io game 574
slime forest 420

The right-hand column splits almost evenly. Challenges, makeovers and ASMR videos are the squishy meaning — that is this page. Slime Rancher, the RPG, slime soccer, slime io, slime forest are the creature meaning: a green blob you farm, fight or bounce a ball past.

We do not serve the second one well, and it is fairer to say so than to let you scroll and find out.

The thirteen we left out

Thirteen games in this catalogue have slime in the title and are the creature kind: platformers, arcades, a knight against blobs, and one copy of a trademarked mobile game.

They stay in the catalogue — slime soccer games and slime io game are genuine English demand and whoever searches should find something — but not on a page that says we chose it, because someone who came to mix glitter should not land on a shooter.

Slime Rancher itself is not here and neither is an imitation. It belongs to Monomi Park.

The ten without the word

They are ASMR and squishy: slicing soft things, painting by numbers, a pet that squashes, a capybara eating. They never say slime and they are exactly the same thing: texture, sound, and no way to lose.

They are here because whoever searches for slime is usually looking for this, even when they do not call it that.

Weight and phones

The median of the thirty-two is 9.2 MB, above the catalogue's 7.8 MB. That seems a lot for a nearly static screen, and the reason is sound: slime without audio is not slime, and audio is heavy.

Seven of thirty-two work on touch. That is genuinely poor. Slime was born on phones, stretching is a finger gesture, and most of these were still built for a mouse. It is a gap in the catalogue and we are not going to dress it up.

Questions people ask

Is this slime you stretch, or slime you fight?

The stuff you stretch. English is the only language we measured where the monster meaning is bigger — Slime Rancher alone pulls 5,000 searches a month — but this page is the twenty-two squishy ones plus ten ASMR neighbours.

Where are the slime monsters then?

In the catalogue. Thirteen games here have slime in the title and are platformers, arcades or a knight fighting blobs. They stay searchable but not on a page we describe as chosen, because someone who came to mix glitter should not land on a shooter.

Is there Slime Rancher, or a game like it?

No. Slime Rancher belongs to Monomi Park and we do not publish copies. `slime rancher similar games` is searched 155 times a month and we have nothing to offer it.

Is this the same as ASMR?

Almost. Ten of the thirty-two have no slime in the name at all — they are slicing, squishing and painting games — and they do exactly the same job: texture, sound, no way to lose.

Does it work better with a mouse or a finger?

A finger, no argument — but only seven of the thirty-two are marked for touch. That is poor for a genre born on phones, and it is a gap in the catalogue rather than a choice of ours.
